INTRODUCTION
Alloy structural steel is a kind of steel which is used as mechanical parts and
various engineering components, whichcontains one or more alloy elements.
Compared with 5140 steel, alloy 5145 has higher strength, wear resistance and hardenability. The critical hardenable diameter in oil is 12~45mm, and the
critical hardenable diameter in water is 26~71mm, but the toughness
is Lower
Alloy 5145 is a medium carbon modulated steel, and cold heading die
steel. The steel is moderately priced and easy to process, and a
certain degree of toughness, ductility and wear resistance can be
obtained after proper heat treatment.
Normalizing can promote the spheroidization of the structure and
improve the cutting performance of the blank with a hardness of
less than 160HBS. Tempering at a temperature of 550 to 570 ° C, the
steel has the best overall mechanical properties. The hardenability
of the steel is higher than 1045 steel, suitable for high-frequency
quenching, flame hardening and other surface hardening treatments,
etc.
APPLICATIONS
The application is similar to Alloy 5140 steel. It is mainly used
to manufacture more important parts. It can also be used for
high-frequency surface quenching and various parts with high
bearing and wear resistance requirements, such as gears, sleeves, shafts and pins.
