OVERVIEW
AISI 1045 Steel is medium tensile steel which exhibits good
weldability, good machinability, and high strength and impact
properties to be used in various industrial applications.
AISI 1045 steel has a low through-hardening capability that
recommended for tempering and through-hardening. This steel shows
reasonable strength and toughness. 1045 is the designation in both
SAE and AISI systems for this material. G10450 is the UNS number.
SAE 1045 Steel is used extensively by all industry sectors for
applications requiring more strength and wear resistance than low
carbon mild steels.
